Notice: Revision of JWC Listed Areas – JWLA-033

Marine Underwriting Services SIA informs its clients and partners of the latest amendments to the Listed Areas of Perceived Enhanced Risk, as determined by the Joint War Committee (JWC).
In accordance with these updates, notice of cancellation is hereby given, effective from 4th March 2026. This notice is issued to align all applicable war risk policies with the new JWC ‘Listed Areas’ (dated 3rd March 2026).
Key Changes in JWLA-033
The revised list incorporates the following significant geographical adjustments:
New Territories Added:

Bahrain

Djibouti

Kuwait

Oman
-
Qatar
Amended Maritime Boundaries: The boundaries for the Persian/Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden, and Southern Red Sea have been redefined as follows:

Northwest: By the Red Sea, south of Latitude 18°N;

Northeast: From Pakistan coastline at 25°19’15”N, 65°E;
-
East: By a line to high seas point 10°48’N, 65°E, thence to high seas point 10°48’N, 60°15’E, and then to high seas point 6°45’S, 48°45’E;
-
Southwest: From the Somalia border at 1°40’S, 41°34’E to high seas point 6°45’S, 48°45’E.
Policy Reinstatement & Administration
For all war risk policies where HDI Global Specialty SE acts as the Leading Underwriter, these new ‘Listed Areas’ will be incorporated automatically.
Insurance coverage will be reinstated upon the expiry of the notice period, following the terms of the Hull War, Strikes, Terrorism and Related Perils Notice of Cancellation Administration Clause (JW2022/007A):

Standard Notice Period: 7 days.

Special Provision: 72 hours (where circumstances involve China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, or the United States).
Effective Date: The amended listed areas will take effect on all war risk policies from 00:01 Hours GMT, 9th March 2026.
